Driver's Seat Bolster

Hi all,

Like many new edges my driver's seat foam on the door side is worn down and the metal bar inside the bolster digs into my leg making it less than enjoyable to drive the car.
I took it to an upholstery shop last fall and they "fixed it" by adding foam. Well now just 6 months later, that foam has compressed and moved and the bar is back digging into me.
Has anyone else found a DIY / household item way to fix this. Basically I need to find something to put in the "pocket" of the foam where the metal bolster goes that is dense enough to shield the metal but soft enough to not feel weird. So far the foams that I have found and tried have not worked (either too soft and metal still poked or too hard and felt like sitting on board).
My wife suggested something like wrapping a towel around the bar, which I haven't tried yet.

Any suggestion OTHER THAN buying all new foam and having the seat redone?

Thanks
