I've searched for a couple of days on various sites regarding a duff drivers window. More specifically the window started to clunk when at the bottom of travel recently, I ignored this for a few days. Then it started to wind up/down enevenly (front up rear down) making a huge clunk. Now the front wont wind down beyond 3 inches whilst the rear tries to carry on down. (if I hold the rear up it will travel down.
I pulled the door trim and couldn't see anything obvious causing the problem, it's difficult to see what's happening in the front of the door panel. The only thing I did see is that the rear "carrier" of the glass is detatched from the glass. (looks like it was glued.) So whatever is jamming at the front has caused the rear carrier to depart from the glass.
q1. Is this symptomatic of a bad window regulator?
q2. Do I need to buy new glass with "carriers" attached, or can they be re-glued?
