Driveshaft slip-yoke pushing against transmission?

The slip yoke on my driveshaft sits so far in the trans that the rear yoke seal actually presses against the mouting part of the yoke, not on the shaft. I have to use a pry bar and push the trans forward to get the driveshaft out. My buddie's car does the same thing in his Camaro and he was told by Moser, Strange, as well as by the Driveshaft company that that can cause problems. He's getting his shortened for $60, should I do the same?

Jason you are running a TK500 in your ride now (to clarify for folks who think you have a T5 and cant figure out why you have clearance issues)?

i might contact Tremec and see what their thoughts on it are - they should have seen the issue enough times.

shortening sounds like it might be the route to go, but i like to check and ask as much as i can before doing something like that, for peace of mind.

good luck bud.

Thanks. Good idea, I think I will call them. The 500 is longer than a T5, and although it came with a shorter yoke, the base of the yoke is in the same spot. Why is it I have to "mod" three times to make each "mod" work.

that is how you guys end up with these outrageous combos - one mod creates 10 other problems. so 10 parts that were working fine before are swapped out for bigger, better parts, which in turn mess-up 10 other parts. LOL. pretty soon you have a 800 hp beast that sorta looks like a fox chassis'd stang. :)

im glad you posted - i like hearing about these kinds of problems and issues (helps me with future decisions). thanks for sharing. :nice:

Kind of deep, but, That is sooooo true. A Ford Mustang is just a product of a big corporation that produces a product so you will buy, and they will make money. Of course in order to sell, they need to get you to buy it, so they make it move as an advertisement. In fact, there really isn't that much difference in a car and a blender. Well, we take this product, and replace these Ford company's parts with other company's parts or add other products to it. So at a certian point, you car really isn't a ford anymore (and that's a good thing) and it is only partly a mustang. Well, whatever they are they are awesome.

I didn't get around to calling tremec, really busy at work.
