No. All I know is I hate the trans with a passion. Don't know why the guy didn't put it in. All he said is that I didn't need it. You would think he would know to use it since he is an svt mechanic. It don't matter. I haven't driven the car since I did all the crap I to it last year.

All TKO's new and old need a 31 spline yoke correct? There isn't a special TKO floating around that can use a stock driveshaft?

Not sure i think that the old 3550s didnt need the 31 spline yoke but the old TKOs did. Now the TKO-500 is a 3550 equivilent but it needs a 31 spline yoke and the TKO-600 is the old TKO equivilent and it also needs a 31 spline yoke. From what i hear the newer ones are supposed to be much quieter and smoother than the old ones. Mine is alright, not buttery smooth but after a couple thousand miles it really loosened up.

It is notchy as hell to shift it. It makes all kinds of noises especially when I put a load on it in fifth. Then when I go to put it in first when I go slow enough to shift it in. Sounds like gears grinding.crapola

Oh, and I don't remember what the rpms were with the stock tranny but now when I'm doing 60 mph, the engine is doing 2,500 rpms which seems kinda high to me.

Here's some food for thought..........Then why can everybody use the same aluminum ford racing d/s designed for 79-95 5.0???? Yes we have a longer input shaft (5/8 lonnger) but can use the same d/s the foxes use................Things that make you go hmmmmmmm

There was a thread about this not too long ago......

Its like this. Your motor is at Point A. The fox has a shorter bellhousing(due to shorter input shaft), then the SAME transmission, then the SAME driveshaft. So you ask yourself...whats the BIG DEAL?! So we dont need a spacer! Think again(like i had to ) and realize that our cars are longer than the fox chassis. If the distance between our motor and rear end were the same, then everything in between would have to be the same. But its not. If u were to line up a fox bellhousing...fox trans...with a driveshaft....then right beside it starting at the SAME point, put a 94-95 bellhousing, tranny, and the same driveshaft, you will see that the fox is shorter...but it fits fine on a Fox mustang...but its short on a 94-95. Thus the need for the spacer when using fox stuff on 94-95's.

Like i was said above...it WILL work...but its not right.
