I am getting my first stang on friday and my parents havent had a manual car for like 10 years. Just wanted to know how long it took to learn to drive one. I already know how to drive but just not shift gears and drive.
Just listen to them, clutch out smooth, give her some throttle, (have to experiment for different situations) and for hills, you have an e-brake if necessary. Good luck.Ray III said:5 minutes to get the idea...
5 years to be GOOD at it.

Teaching someone with a 4 banger your either dealing with stalling or burning the clutch. I stall out sometimes when I have to drive cars at work becaue I am not used to such low tq.lol driving barefooted is still kinda hard for me... i need my normal shoes. If I try and wear new shoes where I dont have as much feeling, I suck, and barefooted i suck.. lol picky feet i guess.. But ya man, it's simple. And dont say "of course it's easy for you, you know how to drive a stick" We all learned sometime or another. My way of learning, was buying a 93 4cyl LX and having to drive it home with no experience lol... By the 2nd light I was fine lol. G'luckxmtrxmt said:Drive it barefooted.
