Driving Stang in the Snow..A lil early I know

drove my blue 98 gt auto all over in the ice and snow, the key is learning how to do it most people here in the nw dont know how to drive when its sunny let alone raining, ice or snow lol

slow and steady is the way to go in the snow the less starts and stops you have to make that better. i drove my rx7 in the snow it doesnt make enough tourqe to be a problem

I know the driver is the biggest thing but I've driven 30+ times in the snow every year for quite a while now between going to my cabin and going up skiing but always taking something other than the mustang. Having the mustang in the snow once I never could have imagined how bad the bfg kdw's are in the snow. In everything else they are amazing though My brother had some snow tires on his A4 last winter, now that was a blast to drive around!

Drove my old 99 in it twice. Not bad as long as I kept moving and it was less then 4 inches or so, I had 275s on the back. Also had a RX7 in high school, drove it once in the snow and it was pretty fun.

DO NOT DRIVE IT IN THE SNOW!!!! ONE OF THE WORST DECISIONS I EVER MADE!

Its a stupid idea, right up there with jumping out of a plane with no parachute or trying to put your thumb up a alligator's butt. I drove my car to work one morning in the snow and was cruising along slowly, and the back end immediatly began to chase the front, I spun around and nailed a "No Shooting" sign, denting my fender. I was about 6 feet away from a huge ditch and a totalled car. I was not romping on it, i was putt putting along at about 30 mph, and it happened so quickly, I dont care how good a driver you are, you could not recover. I have a dent on my fender now to remind me not to be an idiot.

And I do know how to drive in the snow, I have been doing it for 15+ years in all sorts of vehicles. Trust that I will not do it in my mustang again. Just my .02 cents!

i find 10mph to be an ideal snow driving speed still gives you time to react if you have to. slow and steady movements will help alot making quick movements is almost sure to cause loss of control.

I drove my fox to and from work in LaGrande all winter long. 50mph on packed snow on the highway, and sliding everywhere in town. Just ease into first gear and keep rpms really really low through all the gears. Also, some decent all weather tires are always good, but even as bald as mine were I still was able to get around.

Slow and steady as stated above.

Last snow, I drove in it for two days. I got stuck once, only because it got snowed in. I skipped 1st and started in 2nd. I have a heavy foot and in 1st I'd just spin.

From Portland to LaGrande or just around in LaGrande? Cause Cabbage hill is a ***** in the winter! If you did that in a stang... well,

Mmmm, I love driving in snow!


But not in a Mustang, unless it was my only car and I had really great snow tires and preferably chains. It's just not a great setup for that kind of situation at all. Fortunately we get so little snow (in the valleys at least)...

No it wasn't to and from. I lived out there for a while. However, I did drive over cabbage hill in November to move out there. The roads were solid black ice. While I lived out there I had to drive highway 80 (think it's 80) to and from work, and ususally drove about 55 or 60 on packed snow or ice.
Bad bad times.
