Logically, I know that the Cobra engine has more power than the GT. But that means nothing unless you've driven both a few times. It was tonight where the difference really started sinking in. I could accelerate faster in any gear, get back in the powerband easier when the RPM's were low, etc. Maybe it's the poly motor & tranny mounts, but it just feels....better.
Heh, I actually slid the tires tonight on the clone when I put it into 1st a bit too hard. And I've got the AFS Wheels 10.5" rear Cobra R's on the back, with Sumitomo tires - and they still broke loose. Wow, just wow.
Oh, I can also truly appreciate the extra power you get out a manual. I drove my green GT for a while this week, and I just never realized how anemic the AODE is. But when it's all you got, it feels nice and strong. My red GT with 2.73's feels faster than the AODE and 3.73's. Another thing you can't truly appreciate until you've driven both for a while. I will NEVER buy another Mustang with an auto ever again.
