Drone is when you put an aftermarket catback exhaust on your car, and at highway speeds when you're around 2k RPM's, the exhaust noise is constant and "droning" in your ears. I don't mind it. It gets on some people nerves, but the best thing to do is swap your rear end gear for some 3.73's or 4.10's, which will keep you from being in that 2k zone on the highway

Exactly. Borla drones @ 2100 and 60mph. Put 4.10 in and no more drone

When I got my Magnaflow catback there was a definite drone at 2k rpm's. So much so, that conversations on the highway with a CD playing were near impossible. I put in some $25 Bassani baffles and .... pfffft ... drone is gone (or I should say "dramatically reduced"). I love those things.

Hey, where did you get those and are they quick to install/uninstall? I know they just fit into the tips, but I wasn't sure how they fasten in place.

They come with an allen screw on one end. Mine are installed so that the end of the baffle with the allen screw is towards the front of the car (away from the exhaust tip). I took it to a local muffler shop, they drilled two holes, slid in the baffles, tighten down the allen screw, and ... you're done. Ten minutes, tops.

Note on baffle direction: After doing this, some other Stangnet'ers researched to find that putting them as I stated above is actually the REVERSE direction for the baffle. The down side to this "correct direction" means that the the allen screw will be right at the exhaust tip and, hence, visible. The upside to this "correct direction" means that you can use the drain hole that comes stock in the Magnaflow tip for the allen screw (no drilling required). But becuase mine were already installed in the "better visually" configuration, and they already dramatically quietted the car down, it never seemed worth the effort to change the direction from how they were originally installed to how they were "supposed" to be. Following this??

You need to call Bassani directly to get them. My price was $25 each, but I have heard they have went up.

For most people its not a big deal.

Important things to note is Drone can be VERY bad for most aftermarket mufflers, but only in a small rpm range. Say for instance with flowmasters with stock gearing and everything else the same drone usually is between 2000-2250 rpm range. Anything above or below that is fine and when your accelerating you wont really notice it until you get into 5th gear.
