Good lord, get a hobby man! The Roush kit is NOT worth the money... It doesn't make enough power out of the box to support it's $5,000 price tag. I think everyone can agree with that.

On that point, I agree. Not worth $5K for what you get. I don't think calling it a turd was fair, but I concur that $5K is too much for what you get with the Roush S/C. Cost per horsepower gained is staggering ($43 / hp).
On that same point, my Vortech V-2 (non-cooled) isn't all that powerful either (about 440 flywheel hp), but the entire system (blower, tuner, fuel pumps, bigger injectors, etc.) only cost $3700, so I'd say it was definitely worth the money when you factor the modest cost per horsepower that I paid ($26 / hp).

I'd hardly call 445hp/408lbs/ft of torque right out of the box a waste of money....and from what I've seen its currently priced less than any other intercooled Positive Displacement blower on the market (with he exception of the Magnacharger). If the Roush isn’t worth the money, then what makes the other bigger systems worth it if you aren’t able to push them to their full potential with the stock block anyway? On the stock bottom end they’re making the same horsepower/torque levels, running the same 12-second time slips, and getting the same “ooooh’s and ahhhhh’s” at the car shows.
Put it down all you like, but thus far but instead of posting anything to back your point, you've provided nothing but "comments from the peanut gallery" after one crappy test drive. Again....weak sauce.
I guess you could break it down that way if you'd like, but at $5,000 it would actually be closer to $35/hp. And again, keep in mind that all of the other Positive Displacement kits in the same intercooled trim are putting out roughly about the same power levels (+/-15hp).Five Oh Brian said:

Like I said before.....gonna build the bottom, go with the bigger blower that’s gonna open up its lungs when stepped on. Gonna stick with the stock bottom end.....flip a coin and pick the one you think is prettiest.....bud don’t discount the little guy because someone who doesn’t know any better is trying to convince you the big blower are the only ones capable of making decent power. That extra money saved on the "little" Roush goes a long way towards putting some extra gas in your tank on the weekends.
To be fair though....Centrifugal blowers have always been cheaper than Positive Displacement kits. Its kind of apples vs. oranges by comparison? The horsepower/dollar arguement is always going to be lower for a Centi.Five Oh Brian said:

The roush kit may be expensive but you are getting what you pay for, keep in mind the point of the kit was to sell turn key "tuner" cars with a warranty. If you want raw tire ripping block busting power get a turbo anyway, if you want a low 12 second car that acts like grandma's v6 when off the pedal the roush is well worth it.
I don't believe I started this thread to debate with anyone. If anything, a mod is trying to be antagonistic. And I do believe that is against the TOS. My opinion is it was a turd and a total waste of money. Now let's get over your drawn-out responces to questions NO ONE asked. mmmk?

Fair or not, you pay a bit of a premium for the Roush and Shelby names. Some people feel good doing that and others would rather put the extra money into actual performance.
The question of whether any mod is "worth it" is strictly a matter of personal circumstance and taste and therefore is not really debateable.
PoopDawg's original post about the Roushcharged car being a turd is about as relevant as saying he didn't like the color.

the TVS is a better blower, if i wanted a Roush SC i would get the TVS. when considering a SC i thought it was worth the extra money to get something better. i have gone thru 5 different exhaust configurations, which i didnt mind, it was relatively inexensive and i resold the old parts. the SC i wanted to make sure i got the right one off the bat, i didnt want to switch out SC like exhaust parts, so for me whipple was the way to go. i have to agree w/ Klaw and PoopDawg on this. i would spend the extra money and get the TVS or another bigger SC than the Roush base kit.
.....now I'm picking on you? I didn't realize explaining my point and putting to rest you inaccurate depiction of the product was going to cause you to stomp your feet, take your ball and run home. Ok PD.....you win, I'll leave you alone.....just be careful with those open ended statments in the future. As you can see they leave plenty of room for debate. Check out this link...

Just posted it a day ago. I picked up this Roush Supercharged Bullitt with barely over 2000 miles on it from a dealer for under $30,000. The guy that had it traded it for a GT 500. However, the car and the other buyer were still at the dealership and we BS'd for awhile while all the fun paperwork was being done. I can tell you, this car pulls strong. I'm not for a moment saying it's the best; however, for under 30 grand, I have a car that runs a solid 12.4. The previous owner stated that he ran it at the track on three different occasions. I'm very impressed with both the price of the car and performance I get... just my opinion.
