Im putting together a 351 to 408 stroker and saw the DSS level 10 and 20 blocks. Are they worth the $ or just good marketing. I going to get an eagle stroker kit, coat the pistons, crank and bearings and AFR 205 heads with coated chambers and exaust ports. Intake will be a Victor Jr. with atleast a 850HP carb. The engine will be going in a 68 coupe. Im just hung up on the block... DSS or junkyard and do it myself.... Any help would be appreciated...

They are no better than a stock block, but the price is comparable to what it would cost to get your old block machined. I think they clear it for strokers. Call them, they have decent customer service.

The DSS block's r all hype. call adperformance.com, coasthigh.com or keithcraftracing.com. all great companies.

I would do a 408stroker with Scat 4340 forged crank, Scat 4340 forged I beams, Probe 2618 forged pistons, neutral balanced, Romac ultralight damper, Fidenza aluminum flywheel, TFS-R cnc'd head, TFS-R 351 intake full race port and a custom cam from Cam Motion, Jay Allen or FTI. will spin up fast because of lightweight rotating assembly. s/h put down 500/500 rwhp/rwtq on 10.5:1 comp and pump gas. stock 351W block is fine, try to get early 351W block like 1969. those blocks r good upwards of 750rwhp.
