I've been hunting for the most cost effective plenum option for a 2v. My major concern was that I'd like to not spend the money on an aftermarket plenum for a Pi/stock intake manifold as I will be using a Victor Jr in the future and I refuse to choke out the 4150 flange with a mmr adapter. Walking through a junkyard, I hatched my idea to use a plenum from a Triton v10. It uses the same 57mm twin blade tb as a Lincoln/cobra 4v, uses the same number of vacuum lines, same tps, identical IAC, and best of all no egr as the whole plenum is a composite plastic like the pi intakes. My question now, do people not use these in place of a 6061 or mmr combo because they don't know they exist? I payed 15 dollars for the plenum and tb with all sensors and IAC. A 6061 is $300 on its own. Do you think I would see gains over a ported stock plenum with a 70mm aviator tb and would it be able to compare to a 6061 when used on the edelbrock? Ive almost finished making a couple port matched, half inch adapters to sandwich together and bolt the plenum onto a pi intake manifold so I will absolutely be able to post a before and after. Just interested in others thoughts on the plenum.

I have a ported cvpi plenum that I will be testing this thing against. Hopefully I can get both track times and maybe some Dyno time. I've never been to my local Dyno but have heard good things.

I very quickly and roughly cut up a phenolic resin blank into two intake spacers. One is cut to the Pi intakes plenum flange, the other to the Triton V10 plenum. I made them large enough to sandwich the two together with a silicone gasket between them and went as far as countersinking new Allen headed hardware as studs to mount the new plenum on. I figured half an inch would give me room to port match down to the pi plenum flange to "help" the transition, but I am going to wait until i have both plates bolted together to finish port match. You can really begin to see how large this plenum is. Now to be fair, I really don't know what to expect for power gains or losses with this on a stock pi intake manifold but I'm awfully enthused to make the car run with it. Don't hate on the egregious mismatch between adapters because I haven't even began cleanup or matching and phenolic resin ports very easily. I'll spend some more time on it as time allows. -edit to delete copies of pics

I figured I'd post another update since ive made a little progress. I have gotten the two adapters finished well enough that they bolt together flush. This allows the V10 plenum to attach to a PI manifold.
The next step is finishing any port matching and smoothing the transition of the two adapters.
Knowing the TB facing the drivers headlight, I ordered a maf extension harness and will plan on extending the iat sensor wiring. The battery will also be relocated.
I want to state again that I'm not looking for big gains with this plenum attached to the PI manifold as I bought this plenum for use on a Victor Jr, however it is no big hassle making it work especially considering the car is already running a PI intake manifold.
Next update will hopefully be with videos and running on the car!
