Dual exhaust = better MPG?

how can you get a stock v6 to get better gas mileage than it already has? will dual exhaust, pullies, CAI or anything like that help out with fuel economy?
thanks in advance

dual exhaust- the jury is still out. Since it may increase Hp slightly, it might help MPG, but if you lose torque, MPG might suffer a little.

pullies- will help MPG slightly, since you are reducing parasitic drag losses (engine power that is not making it to the wheels). I'd guess you'll get 1 MPG gain or less.

CAI- no change. Most people agree that they hardly make more power at all. Most of the improvement is in throttle response and the intake sound, which some people dig. :nice:

Some other things you can do are:
-run full synthetic oil
-keep the stock rear gearing
-keep your tires inflated to the maximum pressure allowed
-cruise at a lower speed (when speed doubles, drag increases 4X)
-keep your engine clean (fuel and induction systems)

okay thanks for the info
reason i ask is, i have a 95gt but its not my daily driver, i have a 96 blazer, but its taking a dump on me, so i thought i would get an LX mustang for the gas mileage, and since i dont know much about the 3.8, i was tryin to figure out how to get maximum mileage for it

also, i was lookin on fueleconomy.gov, and it they have that the 96-97 LX gets 1mpg better on the highway and city driving over all other years of LX....is that true? or just some random misprint?

I have a 96 V6 Couple with dual exhaust, K&N Filter and run semi-synthetic and can go about 340 miles on one tank if I don't run the AC or step on the pedal.

But now that its getting warm...I am running my AC more. And I step on the pedal now that I have to navigate crappy and rude Dallas drivers....
