Just purchased a 2010 GT and am wondering if I can cut the "H" pipe out of the exhaust and just run dual exhaust or do I need an "X" pipe?
I also am planning cat back mufflers, a CAI and a tuner in the future.Or should I just start with a tuner and CAI?
Thanks am enjoying the forum

I would leave as is or buy an aftermarket h or x pipe. You need this in mustangs to equalize the pressure.

H-Pipe Equalizers

read the top of the page about 4.6L. it will help you understand what im trying to tell you... this is true for most ford v8's found in mustangs.

I'm pretty sure you will not gain anything by going straight pipes to muffler without hpipe plus dont think it would sound to great either.

You have dual exhaust it just has a crossover section to equalize pressure.

here is a video of my car stock hpipe with borla "S type" axle back exhaust. sounds great, that with cai and tuner would wake up the car.

view on computer with some good speakers has a real deep rumble that most small speakers wont let you hear correctly.
