i have done some searches on here and people say that a single focus fuel pump is good to up to 430-450 rwhp. i just found out that i have dual focus pumps in mine. so, can these pumps handle around 500-530 rwhp?

can i add a bap?

do i need to upgrade my fpdm?

i appreciate the help.

i found out about the bap... need to upgrade the fuse box to hold 40 amp fuse (not going to do this)... but i still need to know if dual focus pumps can hold up to around 500-530 rwhp by themselves.

they should be fine.

i'm running dual GT supercar pumps. they should take me well past 600 and they are only $140 for the pair!

what size injectors do you have? and did you have a fitting problems with getting your dual gt pumps installed?

They should hold well in excess of 500RWHP with 60# injectors. BAP would be recommended before you go for big power...same with saleens setup.

My single GT pump maxes out @ 5200RPMs on my car...a dual GT setup should get you to 600, but im thinking it would be fairly close depending on RPM.

you will most likely need 60# injectors. thats what i'm running on mine.

i sold my 42's for $250 and got the 60's for $320. there is a guy over on the MPH forums looking for some 42's right now.

I was able to push out 530rwhp on the stock 03 Cobra twin pump with them maxed out. I upgraded to the twin focus setup and did the wire mod with an upgraded fpdm so I'll have room to grow later down the road.

Another upgrade to consider is the fuel line upgrade if you really want to push the returnless fuel system.

chris... actually when i'm finished building, i planned on coming out to get the stang tuned by you guys. i'm glad you responded because i was going to call and see if i could support 500rwhp with my dual focus pumps and 42lb injectors. i heard that i needed to upgrade my fpdm module too... did you get a stage 1 or 2?

also.. what wiring mod did you get?

i plan on being done in late july early august

42s would make it to 500 but it would be pushing it IMO...like saleen said, your bettwer off getting 60s just to gie yourself room.

Wiring mod is upgrading the fuel pump power wires from your fuse box to the pump with 14 gauge wire. Its generally so the wires dont over heat when you get two pumps and/or a KB BAP....also helps to transmit more power, so your pump(s) see more voltage. even if your fuel system is stock, JUST a wiring upgrade will extend how much power your pump can support because it will see more juice.

I used the one off of modularfords in the reference section. I think I used a 10 gauge wire. You don't need to big, since your tying that wire into a relay and factory wiring.

found the write up in modularfords, very nice... here is my question... since i have dual focus pumps and i will not be maxing them out at around 490-500 rwhp, especially if i upgrade my fpdm to a stage 2, can i just leave my wiring alone?

or.. does the new fpdm require upgraded wiring?

ONE Ford GT40 pump can handle 530+WHP. Cheaper and easier than dual cobra pumps, or anything else. Requires little modification to make it fit with the stock fuel housing/tank.

^ Thats what I was told also on modular Fords as a guy with a GT(40) pump with 60# injectors and upgraded wiring made 530 with that setup.

however when mine was put on the dyno (stock wiring and 42# injectors) my GT(40) pump went 100% duty cycle @ just 5200RPMs. Although my AF stayed fine until around 6000RPM and was still 11.8 @ 6200.
I SHOULD get a BAP, but just havnt got around to it yet HAHA!

Still though, that pump is rediculous compared to the cobra pumps. Imagine, 2 GT40 pumps, and you would have PLENTY of fuel.
