I am wanting to get rid of the clutch fan on my car and want to replace it with an electric fan. Im not to sure whether i should get a dual or single electric fan though, what do you guys think?
Either works fine. It comes down to packaging. The duals get the water pump and fan motors offset from eachother in most instances. The duals are generally short and wide, and relatively thin (sans a cannister motor on one fan motor a lot of the time).
Single fans are more square, can be easier to mount, can have better fan motors and can interfere with water pumps.
Make sure if its a puller that whatever fan you buy a good portion of your rad is covered with a shroud. Usally the dual fans cover more of the rad which IMO makes for a more efficient fan (when its a puller).
