My buddy is looking at a 99 GT this week. Do teh 99's have PI heads or did they become standard in 2000? I know they don't have the intake...that was in 2001, right? Embarrasing question for a late model owner, i know. So how much hp is being left on teh table then if not? I thought the 99 and ups all had the same hp?

99+ all have PI heads and intake, though the intakes changed in (I believe) 2001 or 2002 to include the aluminum crossover.. I'm sure sombody will correct me if I'm wrong.

all 99+ gts have the pi stuff on them, there were some subtle changes to the intake and maf and couple other things in the '01 stangs but they didnt change the hp rating so the gains were probably minimal, hope that answered yer question

Cams have the Press on cam gears...you have to take the timing cover off if you want to swap cams.

Someone enlighten me on what PI stands for, if anything. What's the difference in 96-98 heads, and 99+? I don't know much about the modular motors, I wanna learn some stuff.

PI = Performance Improved But Police interceptor would have sounded cooler.
