dumped flowmasters

yesterday i took my tail pipes off(dont ask why). any way the exhast ends right after the mufflers. the sound is bad ass. Am i loosing any power from doing this???

mac shorties, mac catless h, flowmaster american thunder cat back

i have turndowns on my flowmasters, its fine.....Although i have heard that about chambered mufflers needing tubing behind them to be more effective...But who cares?

i am making a 2 hour trip to english town today so ill let you know how the sound is. i put my interior back in last nite so it made it quieter inside. and yes it is loud as hell. but i dont have that many brain cell to lose anyway

I did OR h-pipe flowmasters and dumps all at the same time and saw less than a .1 change in my ET. The 60' got slower (I bleieve .2) but I made it up at the top end of the track. I am convinced that if I go back to tail pipes I will get a better ET but I kept the dumps because I liked the sound. 3 years later I think I will add the tail pipes because I am getting a little older and it is starting to drive me crazy. No problems with fumes though.

If thats true, then all the NMRA guys would be running tailpipes, but they're not. Pure Street and Factory stock run tailpipes, but thats because its a rule.

dont go puttin down my flows......they are what mustangs SHOULD HAVE come with from the factory :D

Yeah thats true. Im not putting YOURS down, I was also putting mine down. But currently mine are sitting in the box my Magnaflows came in while the Magnaflows are in there new home under my stang.

i actually had turn-ups for a while....I cut the stock pipes where they bend up so it looked like a turndown that was upside down..if you know what i mean, that was loud and stinky...You get used to the drone and the rattling interior pieces after a week but its much better than my ****ty tailpipes

I ran mac mufflers without the tailpipes for a month, yes I had drone but it was only @idle to 1700 rpms then it sounded great and had a nice rumble that got louder through the rpm range.I just put turndowns on it last week that are angled at a 45 degree angle,it sounds quieter than having no pipes and has a lot less drone @idle to 1700rpms like before. This is from MAC Flowpaths others my be slightly differnt.
