Dunlop, Goodyear, BFG?

Just wondering if anyone had any preference quick before I order some new tires. All about the same price. I have the Dunlop A2's on there now, and they have been good. Just considering trying a new brand while I need all 4... Thanks.

May I add another brand to the mix....Firestone. I have a set of Firestone Wide Ovals on my car right now, and I love em. They are "summer only" tires (no small grooves for snow) and directional. No 60' times yet, but they hook really good on the street. Plus, if you are running a pony rim, they offer good 16 inch sizes....I have 225/55/16 in front and 245/50/16 out back.

Thanks. I dont have pony rims, i just have my 15 inch turbine wheels. I was figuring on performance all seasons. I will definitely see rain, and in the winter, I try not to drive my car, but it does see light snow occasionally.

Buying for turbines is really hard. How often will you be driving the car in rain, snow or summer only? I will also say that I am not a fan of Good-for-a-years because I have had some bad experiences with them.

BFG always makes a good tire.

This time around I tried something different. I went with Bridgestones G009 series tire on my turbines. They are an all season tire, so I lost a little bit of "shear terror" ability but I am really happy still.

The G009's are exactly what I am looking at. I live in Southern Maryland and lately have been travelling to Southern New Jersey for work. I have been caught in the rain a lot. My mustang is my daily driver so I end up in the rain whenever it rains.
I dont get a lot of snow in the area, and when its thick I dont drive, but I still drive in the light stuff no problem.
I agree, buying for turbines is not easy! The G009's and the Dunlop A2's sounded the same from the tire shop, and he kinda of suggested either of them over the BFG, i didnt get the number off them.
Reallly was considering trying something different from what I have, though it looks like the A2's are a new design from Dunlop now...

Sorry, didn't realize you had Turbines.

The G009's are actually a very similar compound to the Wide Ovals (since Bridgestone/Firestone are the same company now). Only real difference being the tread pattern of the G009's making them all-seasons. I've heard good things and those were actually my second choice when I was looking.

For the record, BFG is actually owned by Michelin now, and I expect a lot of BFG passenger tires to convert to the Michelin compounds, which is a harder compound that I'm not a fan of. As for BFG drag radials, I doubt those will change since Michelin doesn't offer a drag radial anyways.

I love my tires because they still look good but can handle the wet weather if I get caught out in a spotty down pour... We all know it's not fun sliding around on the highway. I've got some pictures I can post of them if you are interested in seeing them mounted.

If you need a good tire that hooks but has good weather capabilities you could always look at the bfg traction t/a 's. I know lots of people that run those tires and love them, I would have bought them if i could have at the time.

I prefer BFG.

I have the g-Force T/A KDW on my Mustang & they rock!!! Way better wet & dry weather traction then the Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP's that were on my car.

Eagle F1 GS-D3. Best tire Ive ever bought. Handles great in all conditions (though it was never tested by me in the snow).

^ those are a pretty good tire.

had them on my cobra for a bit. grabbed pretty good even when balding.

now i run bfg kdw2's. awesome tire all around.

I don't think the Goodyears come in the 225/60/15 and I know for a fact the KDW2's don't come in that size. I checked like 200 times to make sure when I was shopping around. And yes, I wanted to stick with the stock sized tire.

It's no big deal... I am a BFG man myself, but I have been happy with these tires so far.

The G009 isn't a bad tire. Put a set on my friends 94 v-6.
He likes them. Iv'e sold lots of them. Have not had any complaints on them yet. They come with a mileage warranty of 50k too. One more important thing also is that their is a $50.00 rebate on the G009's good until May 6TH.

I am running the V rated BFG Traction T/A's on my ten holes. Stock size 225/60/15. I have owned the car for 17 years and have had many different tires on it. These are the best by far. They are great in the rain and hook very well on dry pavement. They are suposed to last a long time too, maybe 60,000 miles (don't quote me on that number).
