Build Thread Dustys has a new friend

Happy Turkey Day !!!

Atmospheric pressure is at 30.08 inhg today.....so barometric pressure is 14.774 psi... The reason I'm posting is because while logging my car I saw 108.5kpa. That equals 15.747 psi. Does that mean I saw my first peak at boost ?

@a91what @madmike1157

Its only 1lb but....I really shouldn't have seen that. I'll post the two logs to the Megasquirt help thread and here...as soon as I get a decent WiFi signal :dead:

This stuff sucks ...:bang:

Well...I already have forged internals and h beam rods. My head gaskets have fire rings.... Guess I could transfer my stuff over to a real block and make big power....and leave my car on jack stands.

I've chased power for years....I'm done with the chase. This car will hardly ever see full boost. I learned my lesson years ago. Lots of money wasted.

I don't think I'll get bitten by the boost bug.

Well....bad news....

400+ HP isn't as easy to handle as you'd expect.

Dusty is crashed. Somewhere, between my left and right foot, I had the bright idea to get in it. That ended badly...

He met a curb...and its not pretty. Damaged one rim....that cobra bumper is cracked on the drivers side. The good side is I only need....1 rim....1 fog light bezel .. 1 fog light....1 control arm....and 1 k member. Intercooler survived...oil pan wasn't touched...frame is straight.

I swear it felt like that curb had a magnet on it.....we won't mention the crowd..:hitit:

So....gotta a lot of work ahead of me. Glad its cold.

I'm not actually sure about the k member but the wheel is pushed back a bit.

Y'all should've seen my ### jump out the car and throw that lower bumper in the passenger seat.

No tags....remember...I got the hell outta dodge. Leaving behind my pride and a fog light.:bang:

Conclusion.....I need more tire...maybe go wide body....the 3m 4747 does not stand up to impacts....

When a ( soon to be ) middle aged man attempts to show off....it usually ends up bad.:nonono:

Uhh that's no good. I'm glad your ok man car can be fixed people often cant.

Yeah man. Glad I was OK. It gives me a reason to spend more moolah. I was being reckless ....should've known better. At least I didn't over boost and melt anything.

I lost it so quick there was no recovering it. I should've gotten out of it...but I thought I could pedal through it....big mistake.

That sucks Scott, use Panel Bonding Adhesive next time though. They would have to repair the curb instead.....

I'm going to attempt to fix the cobra lower. It got scraped up and there's a crack along the left side. This will be a bodywork winter for me.

Good news, I got my car trailer back from the welder today. Now I have 7.5 foot ramps. :nice:

Next he's extending the deck and putting a winch mount, side tool boxes, and trailer jacks on all 4 corners.

In this pic you can see the wheel is sitting back in the wheel well...

This is a pic of the rim and tire damage. I think I can get the rim fixed. The tires look good but the actually have some dry rot cracking so no real loss there.

If I had that smidgin' of room to turn the wheel a little more I would've missed that curb.

If I woulda' taken my big dang foot out of the gas....I wouldn't have hit that curb. :nonono:

That's back when I was 39....I'm 40 now and learned from my youthful days. Lol
