Build Thread Dustys has a new friend

I adjusted the dead time and v/ms for the injectors I also changed the injection settings. If it gives a discrepancy when you load it just ignore them.

This week has been a fiasco....self inflicted...but still a PITA...

This story starts about 3 months ago when I got pulled over in my Ranger for a cracked windshield. I knew it was cracked ( obviously ) but I figured I'd get it fixed when I got pulled over. Made it about a year....

No big deal....I work at a dealership so new windshield goes in and a state inspector signs off on it.

Well, that same week a rock hits the new windshield and chips it. :fuss:

I'm pissed and completely forget to send my little signed piece of paper in to the Maryland State Police.:nonono:

They end up sending me a notice in the mail that my tags were flagged and would be confiscated if driven.

Big Poppa Smurf needed new wheel bearings, new left front caliper, and a tail pipe.....in order to pull my home made car trailer that needed straps, chains, and tie down points. It works fine for a car but the Ranger was almost hangin' of the trailer.

Running around looking for tie down points was a real pain. I don't like the flush mount rings with the 4 carriage bolts. I've seen them rip out unless they are welded on. The hold downs I like were too thick for my welder to weld on. ....so.... I improvised.

I bought these from Tractor Supply. These are 1/2 inch cable lugs. They don't sell threaded " U " bolts this thick. I had to buy 4...because they don't sell the right sized nuts individually. That was fine though. They only cost 3 bucks a piece.

Quick work with a center punch, drill bit, and a step bit and it was all done.

Today the van did its job.

...and the truck has good tags again. I took the Maryland State Inspectors test...

....and failed. Can't win them all in just one day. Smh

@a91what ...jus' because I took it out and cruised the track area doesn't mean I'm done. I did see some lean numbers in the high 15 to 16 range cruising in second. I was hoping to get a longer data log out there but with the crowd it was extremely hard to get that done...

I just wanted Dusty to get out to his family reunion....even if he couldn't play.

Lol that's good to do. Pm me with the datalog and the tune file used during the log.

Got Big Poppa Smurf all fixed up. This is what cruising after a hill climb, pulling a trailer, gutted catalytic converter, and a little rich will do.....

All better now...

This is a pick of my air shocks. I run 50psi in them just to keep the van from sagging in the rear when towing. They were cheap and work well.

I really like this van. The muffler is in with the new tail pipe.

Dusty is still on the trailer from Ford Fever.

While he's there I plan to install some exhaust hangers, full length subframe connectors, and the driveshaft hoop. It helps that the trailer is open center and completely level.

Things have been slow but this thread is about to hit boost...eventually

Well......while you're at it......

I could easily make it 4wd....and dually...with a tandem rear. This is a friend of mines van. It was at the shop for me to align the tandem rear and refab the heims joints in the rear.

Its a lot easier to do with an extended body dodge van though. I'd have to extend the frame and use a donor van.

I'm a little " P'd " off right now. I went on the LMR website to order my subframe connectors Tues. and had an estimated delivery for Monday. I really wanted to get this done over the weekend so I checked CJ Pony Parts and their site said it was in stock. Realizing that CJ is right over the line in PA and usually stuff gets here in 2-3 days I ordered from them for more money.

Then....I get a freakin' email saying they will be drop shipped from FL. Finally got a tracking number and found they won't be here until ....Monday.

I will not be dealing with CJ anymore.

Just had to vent....I hate when vendors lie or bend the truth. If I would've known I would've ordered from LMR....like I should've in the first dang place..

Yeah Scott, I like CJ, they have some stuff that LMR doesn't have. They are slower with shipping. They have also drop shipped a bunch of stuff with me too.

LMR for me is out of texas and sometimes i'll get what i've ordered the next day. Their customer service seems a little bit more proactive.

All that said because i have nothing for you.:zombie:

I want to see Dusty someday. I need to make an eastward pilgrimage one day.
