So i made 427hp and 506 trq... i know this is low for what i have.
But the motor is still new and didn't want to push it to hard and i was having a few issues.

Still am having issues... im leaking oil out the intake i believe..there's oil on top of the bell housing and i think im leaking from the distributor. As well i think there might be a rear main seal leak...already:shrug: CHP is sending me a new one but i still have to do the labor.

Also my MAF pegged(saturated) around 5k so we stopped dynoing at 5K.. tuner suggested getting a MAFia not sure what i need to run this....MAF is a C&L 76mm for 42lb injectors.

We had to tune around an idle issue....wouldn't idle at first, got it to stay running at 1100rpm. Drove it home and got a CEL but then i forgot to pull them and i disconnected my battery.

theres more little issues, but hopefully this will get some input so i know what i should try doing.

how do i correctly preload/install the stock cobra rockers correctly...i got a valvetrain tick.

Congrats on getting it running:nice:

Those numbers seem pretty solid for what you have if you were on Pump gas, I understand that your GT40 heads are ported, but they are still GT40 heads. Also some info that could help:

-Type of Dyno used?
-PSI Amount?
-what octane level fuel? pump gas?
-what was your injector duty cycle at? 80%?
-Is the ticking noise very loud, or do you only hear it when listening for it? Reason I ask this is because the rockers will always make some type of noise.
-What size of Turbo is it? 60mm Garrett turbo (Stage 1 Turbo size)
-What type Intake are you using?
-Fuel system?

Also as far as the MAF goes, I got rid of mine over 5 years ago, if you put this much money into your setup, might as well get a stand alone:shrug:

for comparison purpose my car on Pump gas with a T76 Q-Trim @ 13 PSI made 550 rwhp and around 600 rwtq, I have a C4 transmission and the dyno I used was a Dyno Dynamics 2400hp Chassis Dyno, which is pretty stingy for numbers, but very good to tune with. with better gas and 23 PSI the numbers went to 700 rwhp and around 680rwtq

Once again congrats on the running Turbo Mustang.

Will:flag:

My basic plans were to get it running and get some miles on it and get driving experience. Then i would up the heads and intake and some other components to help support everything in the winter.

I have the stock cobra intake thats been opened up some. So yeah they r pretty good numbers for that intake. My tuner John of Horsepower ranch believes i can get to atleat 500.

I was using shell 92 octane, at about 9psi on a mustang dynaometer. Not sure on the duty cycle but my fuel system is a kirban reg, with 42lb injectors and a walbro 255lph.
the turbo is the garret 60mm, probably max it out once i hit 600 if i ever take it that far.

I did find the ticking noise....:(:nonono: my rockers for the number 5 cylinder loosened(thinking the heat from when my rad hose went south) and chewed the roller tip to pieces...

I need new rockers. and im contemplating on replacing heads already, worried the wandering of the rocker might have messed something up. what should i check for on the head?

wasnt planning on spending anymore big money until winter.

turbosnake95 are you back in WA yet?

Will be back in town on vacation from 1 July - 23 July, then will be back in Korea till October.

What you really need to decide I guess is: What is your HP goal? and determine what you need to upgrade from there.

And remember the the 3 rule-

1. Cheap
2. Reliable
3. Fast

pick only two.

And jut my .02 but that Turbo is way to small for a 331ci.
.

haha yeah i know that rule pretty well now.
My goal is 550hp.
and its actually a 347 now...lol plans changed on me.
and yeah i know im pushing the limits on the turbo.
It'll be alll cherry...eventually. I love the learning process :nice:

Well if you get a free day or go for one last run or something while your home, we should meet up.

Yes get rid of the C&L for the Abaco meter, I am very happy with my Abaco meter so far in initial testing. And you can't adjust Cobra rockers, you can add shims if they are bottoming out the pushrod but not much else you can do other than that.

what did you use as a gasket on the front and rear of the block where the lower intake mates up to it? sounds like thats where your oil leak is coming from

ive always had good luck using a thick bead of RTV and nothing else

I never liked that rule... ive had plenty of cheap cars... they were not reliable... lol

Haven't had much time to work on the stang this last week... will soon though.

Trying to find some rockers...the crane energizers i want r out of stock. Might go with some scorpions. The heads will be getting changed out during the winter so im not going to bother with studs at this point and i'll just sell the scorpions with the gt40's or put it on my old block.

stilll debating the mass air... abaco is tempting but pricey...anyone heard of the zone 5 performace MAF extender??

im thinking it was more my upper intake, used silicone but it might not have set properly...

i need to vent my cranckase to...think i can get away with a one way before the PCV and a breather on the valve cover?

i have comp pro magnum rockers ... highly recommended

if i were doing it again, i'd get the abaco maf ... it is most likely to be the most reliable and consistent meter out there

that thing must give you an amazing ride ... :hail2:

yeah it is a pretty gnarly ride. Havent really gotten in it to much though. Trying to get some miles on it...89.1 miles at the moment.

Got my new rockers today and im going to pick up a shim kit tomorrow.

I think im seeing boost in the cranckcase... figuring i need a thundercoupe PCV and possibly a check valve.
What else do people do for this??... done some research but it it gets confusing.
