The horsepower pissing contest still kills me. Right now my car has an intake manifold gasket leak (i'm sure that's my problem now) and I'm only seeing 6#'s of boost due to the leak down and 370rwhp and 373rwtq on a Mustang dyno after we detuned it due to scary amounts of timing and it still hauls ass. If i were you i would stick with one of the entry level blowers, KB 1.7, or Vortech V2. 400HP is a lot for a street car. The limits of these blowers at around 500rwhp is stupid amounts of power for a street car. I've been babying my car until I can get it fixed and it still breaks the tires loose in 3rd with 315's. Any 400HP car is no joke. Go with what makes you happy, save some cash and go for a Centri blower or go for major low end torque and get a KB. Either one you should be happy with. I can't imagine what 500rwhp is going to feel like when I get mine working right. That is a helluva lot of power! Don't really need it but will be fun to have.

Tweeked.....you may never see 9psi with the KB specified 9spi pulley with your set up. Remember, you've opened things up on both ends making it more efficient and have also increased the engine displacement. The larger displacement means a larger volume of air is being utilized and as a result, isn't stacking up within the manifold.

It’s by no means a bad thing….you’re actually going to make more power, while seeing less boost on the gauge. Lower boost numbers also means less heat…which is another good thing. I don’t see your car having much trouble seeing 500rwhp….but I still think you’re going to need to mix a little race gas in to do it.

That doesn't include the price of fabbing up everything to make the intercooler work with the vortech. They aren't exactly designed that way so i imagine it won't be cheap to make it happen.

I made it for 450 including everything include and it works great.

Damn 2700 for the tuner kit! Superchargers4less.com sells the tuner kit for like 2300.

Then it would be less then. I bought my vortech over 3 years ago and it still works great. I guess the prices have came down. I could make 440 rwhp on his car for about 3900 including his mods.

i dont see anything wrong with the p1sc...i went from 232rwhp to 417...so thats 185 rwhp gain...im pretty happy with the gains even though im getting a shortblock built and pullying that ******. All i got for mods is and o/r x pipe and flowmasters welded in. Thats the basic kit. Oh and the p1sc is actually rated up to 825 hp but i still wouldnt wanna push it that hard. Im going to upgrade to d1sc for 349 bucks from rpmoutlet.com.

If you can afford the kb and you want alot of power. You should get one of the twin turbo kits. It's the best of both worlds and you can make as much hp as you want by turning a little knob. If your like me and race it more than driving it on the street. The twin tubo kit is the only way to go for maximum power.

^ IMO only if it's over 700whp, or on an auto. Anything below that with a manual, I'll take a KB.

Ill be sure to race you, that way we can find out . Problem is that most people cant drive, so with most people, M5 + turbo = not too hot lol. And BIG single turbos with manuals suck especially...I have a twin setup that should spool VERY fast.
But in general your right.

But hey where else can you get 450+RWHP with a clutch and fuel gauge for a little over $3000? Thats about all im going to spend lol.

No funnier than the Kenne Bell 1.7L being rated for 650hp

True, but I would expect to see at least 7# out of that 9# pulley. I expect to use race gas too. I can't see 500 happening on pump gas. I have some VP Blaze unleaded race gas coming but it still isn't here yet . I guess it doesn't matter since i probably shouldn't use it till I get the manifold gasket leak fixed.

gearbanger is absolutely correct on all points. especially the psi statement.. get psi out of your heads and start thinking CFM. I will make more power with less boost because I have ported heads and open exhaust. flow more air = make more power.
