I'm wondering if it will be worth it to pay $450 for a dyno tune. I have the following combo:

- 331, 11:1 compression
- GT-40 heads, lots of port work done. Back-cut valves
- Cobra intake, lower ported by tmoss
- 65mm explorer TB
- TFS-1 cam
- 1.6 Roller Rockers
- 30# injectors
- 75mm ProM MAF

It feels pretty strong but I also think there's more in it. I'm guessing it's making 290-300 at the wheels.

Anyone with a similar combo get a tune? How much power did you pick up?

Thanks

Do it!!! My car was a dog when I got done with the h/c/i but after I got it tuned it turned into a completely different car. It sounded different, drove different and it turned into a beast. You will definately be happy with your car when its tuned.

cant hurt anything. plus side being, a lot of tuners will update a tune cheaply if you continue to modify your car

i picked up 20 rwhp with my na 302 combo. paid for 1 hr of dyno time, nowhere near 450.

that price seems kinda high? regardless, its worth it to dyno tune. not only is there power to be had, but driveability and mpg as well.

My guy charges around that but its a street tune and comes with the tweecer. Its crutial to get a tune when going that radical of an engine combination.

Definitely get a tune. A built motor without a tune is like a brand-new high performance computer running Windows 95.
