I saw a stang with a nice sounding exhaust so I trotted up beside him. We gave it a little 30 or so MPH run from 10-15 MPH and I pulled him very hard. He said he had just flows. Could it be that the difference in outflow between Dynomax and Flows are so great that it costs him TQ? I don't think he would have caught me in a 1/4 because it looked like he just stopped when I took off. He also had an automatic.

I doubt thats what it was. Mainly beucase he was an auto and you probably were a better driver too. Mufflers wouldnt make that big of a difference. Nice kill though

It was because it was a automatic.Nothing else..The mufflers have nothing to do with it..A friend of mines auto gt(now converted to a stick),with the same mods always put down less power than mine(on average 20 rwhp less)..

I have flows on mine ..I dont think they hurt me .

lol....the mufflers arent going to make nearly enough difference especially the amount of time you raced. You'd need to take two identical gt's, one wiht dynomaxxs, one with flows and race them from 0 - top speed to see which muffler outflows which. The difference would probably be a half car length at most.

He was an automatic, theres the reason.

If this were the case why would pro racers run flowmasters? There are too many variables. mileage, upkeep/maintenance, auto vs. manual, reaction times, etc.

It was your locking gas cap that made all the difference.

How exactly do you run from 10-15mph to 30mph? If his was an automatic, by the time it was done thinking about downshifting the race was done!!

30 + 10 = 40
30 + 15 = 45

So from 10-15 to 40-45. Probably more like to 60. He jumped first though. I just happened to be in a lower gear so my RPM's were up.

---

I know he didn't win because of mufflers. I just wanted to post I'm still getting flows.
