Has anyone used these ?

I can't stand my dronemasters, I never drive the car because of the noise. The Dynomax VT are supposed to cut out low throttle noise and drone very well, just wondering if anyone has used them, and if so which ones ? There's the 17159 and 17959, either should work for the Mustang.

I'm too lazy to click a link but are those a "turbo" style muffler? A straight through design w no chambers like a magnaflow? If so the sound will kinda sound like an import V8. Mellow and smoothe at idle w a pseudo import esq growl at wot. Yeah I just generalized all non-chambered mufflers didn't I...?

The 17959 has a stronger internal spring and is intended for single exhaust or more stout/radical engines with dual exhaust, so the bypass valve doesn't open too early. I run 17159's. The most common complaint you hear about these things is they rattle at idle. In my case, that's true, but it quickly goes away as the system warms up.

So since yours rattle at idle, do you think running the 959s might take care of that ? Although I guess if it's good after warmed up that shouldn't be an issue. Did you ever call Dynomax and ask what they recommend ?
Overall these sound like something I'd like to get based on your posts about them. How have they held up over time, any change ?

I chose their ultraflows, still waiting to put on though. It is a straight through design and shouldnt drone...

I didn't call Dynomax but I read a post from someone who did. In his case, he went with the stronger ones (big lumpy cam). I was afraid they wouldn't open up early enough on my car. Mine have held up surprisingly well given the way I use the car. They don't appear to have grown obnoxiously loud like every single other muffler I've ever had on the car eventually has.

I called Dynomax and they recommend the 17159

So i bought them, had them installed. I like them alot - the drone is like 10% of what it was, maybe less. Overall much nicer to drive the car now. Still sounds beastly when I push it up in the 4-6k rpm range.
