Had my SQ installed, along with Superchip.
My stang is STOCK. It only has flowmaster weld ins.
I'm not a very happy camper and talking to a guy at Vortech about this.

With thier reputaion, I hope they will help to get me where I should be.

Suggestions?

Well, what did Vortech say?

Guys,

Sorry. I suck at this. I tried to upload the dyno for you to see.

It's not there.

Vortech is looking into this but, I'm out a few bucks right now, so not a real freaking happy camper, if you dig.

Okay... I figured ONE thing out... How to show all the guys with stangs LOW NUMBERS.

I should have gone with the leaf blower.... kidding but really pissed.

How do I upload that pathetic dyno... YES, that cost me more?

Well, A. how much boost you running? B. is it intercooled? Non intercooled witha STOCK GT will MAYBE get you 330-340 at best with 8PSI. I would get a boost gauge and check the PSI.

But with 300RWHP its still a HECK of a lot faster huh lol.

Thanks for the pat on the back. I owe you one, man.
Yeah, It's somewhat better.
It doesn't have the aftercooler on it.
I blamed it on not having enough cash.

But crap man, shouldn't I have at least hit 375rwhp?

If Vortech claims to increase HP 100-104, if the basic '03 stang 2v 4.6 has 260 to the flywheel (is this right?) then maybe this makes sense.

If the basic Vortech install promises to add between 100 and 104 HP, what should I REALISTICALLY see, without the cartoon image everyone shows, on stock everything?

This is my question.
Should I have 400 to the rear wheels, as opposed to the stock 210.... (or thereabouts?) or should I jump from that 210 RWHP to 400 RWHP?

They do say 100-104, without the aftercooler, which I purchased.
Are my Dyno's funky, or right?

I'm confused.

there could be a ton of reasons why your car isnt producing. first off, 260 stock hp is to the crank, you should see ~235 to the wheels stock. slap a basic vortech kit on a stock car and i'd expect anywhere from 320-340 rwhp. now, did you get a tune? how is the guy's reputation who is doing the tuning? did a shop do the install? did they re-assemble everything correctly? is the blower really doing its job? is it a defective unit? is there a restriction somewhere (anything from a rag stuffed in the intake tube to a clogged air filter to a clogged exhaust system)? hows the A/F ratio? all these things are to be considered. is the car running differently now? i.e. hesitating, stuttering, felling sluggish? etc etc etc etc

Derek,
Thanks. The shop is awesome. The installer is dead nuts accurate and the tuner has a stang IN THAT garage that's this car http://www.ramseysperformance.com/gallery.htm

Maybe I should go back to the shop and tell them to retune. But sheet, I'm affraid of watching my stang go BOOM on that dyno.

That's why I came to you guys.

i agree those #s are really really low. like i said in your thread yesterday, i've seen a bone stock Bullitt, only mod being a Novi 2000, put down right over 400rwhp.

Thanks Streetstang. It was your post that made me realize that my Vortech install isn't a par.
I appreciate your honesty.

Don't feel too bad, you're not the only unhappy camper. A few weeks ago, I had my stang dyno'ed. It put down only 320hp, which is embarrassingly low for an IC'ed KB'ed GT. I think I know why the #s are so low, though. Anyways, good luck.

Hey what's up? I have the same blower as you and my only other mods are an x-pipe and water/meth injection. I put down 334hp and tq to the rear wheels through an auto. When I got mine dynoed I thought that was pathetic. After all my car is SUPERCHARGED! Well I sat down and thought about for a second and realized those numbers actually weren't bad. You might have the same problem as me, and that's lack of boost. I'm only running 5psi. I figured after some long tube headers, a better mid-pipe, and a 10 psi pulley I'll be where I want to be.

i said this in the other thread. alot of these guys are laying 350rwhp have alot of other mods, you have none.

also the bullitt is getting an extra 30rwhp from the bulllitt intake. and he could have been running 10psi or 12 psi? this guy is prob. running 8psi.

like said above, there is a modded blower car with an intercooler putting out slightly more then you. its the kb at that. not to make any of you guys feel bad. im just trying to say that guys dont slap a blower on a STOCK car and see 385 to the wheels. that is what the guys with many bolt ons see.

with all that said you seem slightly low, but not as bad as people might lead you to believe. all these cars have mods. you seem about 20rwhp too low.

without my heads and cams i gained 31rwhp in bolt ons. i never got pullies, so that would be a little extra power if you got them. so if you got all the regular boltons that everyone else has, you have 335rwhp. about 20 shy of where i think the 8psi should put you. also that is the power i gained from my car which non aspirated, you would gain more out of the same bolt ons cause of your blower pushing all that air through. if you did all the bolt ons you woul prolly have 350rwhp

add a bullitt intake to that you have 370-380, that is not too bad.

My first dyno was with a Steeda boost pipe Mac pro chamber and cat back and stock pulley I made 347 hp and 355tq. The second time changed pulley from a 3.6 to a 3.3 and used the same belt and made 382hp and 372tq on the best run.
I should be close to 390 since the plenum and TB.
