ok guys i got 4 questions....

first when ever i hit my brakes kind of hard (enough to make the nose dip a little) my E brake light on my dash lights up. what does this mean? does this happen to anyone else? is it time to replace something? i know its getting close to the time to change my brakes but i dont know if the E brake light is normal or not.

2nd for those of you running slotted or cross drilled rotors what are you running and why? please no flaming each other. i just want to get an idea of who has what and why. whats the most popular and if you had a problem what was it? as much as i love my stang i think the brakes are really important on any car.....

3rd i think i might have bent my rim a few min ago :( .... please dont laugh but i was tired and made a right turn into a parrking lot and bamm :bang: :bang: :bang: from the way i made the turn it felt like both front and rear tires on the right side went up over the planter/curb. it felt like the really cleared them...not like just curb rash, but like my whole tire went up and over..... like i went 4 wheeling.... could this have dmg'd anything? any suspension, brakes, rims? i was in between 1st and 2nd gear maybe like 10-15 mph. my suspension is stock except for the eibach springs and i got stock 03/04 cobra rims.

4th Q when i was drivng the rest of the way home i decided to get her up to like 50-60 to see if i could feel a vibration from hitting ther curb. nothing so far everything seems cool. but i noticed that by accident i took her out of 5th gear w/o pushing in the clutch. now my foot was off the gas when i did this.... so i tried it again... then one more time. what i was able to do was shift out of gear into N, if i let off the gas. it did it really easy in 5th and 4th. when i tried it in 2nd it wouldnt do it till low rpms like 1,600 or so. but when i was accelerating or keeping a steady speed it wouldnt shift out of gear.... is this normal? can anyone else do this?? is something broken?

just so you know its a 2004 GT 5 spd with about 26.5k miles on the clock. sorry for all the bad spelling and grammer, im very tired from work and school. thanks guys....

first question, your brake light is coming on because your brake fluid is low, and when you hit the brakes the fluid drops low enough to trip the sensor.

second question, i dont have aftermarket rotors, but a lot of people replace them because they stock brakes warp easy, and they also fade a lot under heavy breaking. slotted/drilled rotors allow gas buildup under the brake pad to escape allowing better braking when the brakes get really hot.

third question, if you didn't notice any vibrations/pulling at high speed after you hit the curb then you probably didn't mess anything up.

fourth question, it is completely normal to be able to pull the car out of gear with out the clutch in. if the tranny pops out of gear without you touching the shifter, then you have a problem
