Ok, just like the title says...

It started staying on even when the brake was off, sometimes it would flicker and go off when I would reach under the console and nudge the mechanism that controls the circuit.

Today I get around to taking apart the center console and located where the 2 wires connect to the e-brake handle and have made sure the connections are clean and not touching each other. Also looked at the wires to see if they were melted or cut and they look good.

I’ve also checked all my fuses and they are all okay.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

check brake fluid level. low fluid will make the light go on

The BRAKE light will go on if the brake fluid is low, or the fluid sensor in the resivour is bad. Flickering when driving is a dead givaway that the brake fluid is low. If it is, where did the fluid go? It doesn't evaportate. Check your brake system for worn pads or leaking wheel cylinders as well as the lines.
