I've noticed recently that my e-brake doesn't hold the car still very well, so I adjusted the drum brakes and then looked under the car to see if there was an adjustment on the e-brake cables themselves and I discovered my problem. The bracket that is riveted to the floor of the car and holds the e-brake cables has ripped from the floor board. (guess I need to stop working out so much )

Anyway, has anyone ever experienced this, or does anyone have a great solution to fixing it?

The only thought I had was to weld the bracket back to the bottom of the car.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i've seen it happen on a few different cars, only solution i've ever known was to clean the area and weld the piece to the floor. i cant imagine it costing too much at a decent shop

Thanks! I guess the biggest problem will be getting to it. Time to remove the drive shaft and have some fun.
