GAS GAS GAS

Don't use your ebrake, if a tail slide is what your after you just move that left needle in the dash over to the red and pull on the steering wheel. See the red area is the extreme area, tail sliding is considered extreme so it only makes sense, right? :Track:

yeah, cause you know they dont use a mustang in pro drifting or anything so it must be because of a movie. I havnt seen it and I did them in the V6 rental stang I rented in a mall parking lot.

use your ebrake whenever possible...WHEN YOU ARE PARKED. it keeps rust away and keeps it useable by moving the grease around that was applied at the factory.

Want a cookie? I just find it highly convineant that someone would be asking about "O does my e-brake work good" after that abomination of a movie came out. But you know, i'm sure he really is interested in pro-drifting etc.

if its anything like the other, it will suck. And anyway, my point was the whole "back away from the mustang" thing makes it seem like you think he should have a stang just because he wants to know if pulling the e-brake to drift will hurt his car. But anyway, iam not going to fight about it.

That's what I was just thinking. I just read this whole thread and all I saw was everyone giving one-liners about The Fast and The Furious 3.

From what I know, if you constantly pull your hand brake to do powerslides, it does put stress on the cable and may loosen up or even break. Most stunt drivers strengthen the hand brake cable when doing powerslides. As for drifting I don't know, but I assume the same rules apply.

drifting involves spinning the tires, not locking them up....

Hi all, have been reading the whole thread... I know drifting is not what our stangs where meant to be, but I really like it, and best of all our stangs are fully capable of doing so... some like drag strips, some like tight-turn roads...

Yes it causes stress on your ebrake, that is why you need high endurance pads so your fade is reduced to a minimum, you will also need to be adjusting cable tension, as it will be reduced by the continuous use of it...

Drifting is not spining the tires, it is keeping your car sideways as long as you can THROUGH A TURN, not after the turn, as tail sliding....

I am a sponsored drifter over here at Mexico, there are several techniques for drifting, including POWER OVER, feint, shift lock, etc... it does mean locking your tires.... and there are two 2005-2006 mustangs on the US Formula D Circuit, and guess what, they are winning a lot of drift battles...

If somebody is interested in some more Drift Info, you can PM me, so I don't bore everyone that hates drifting... with a mustang at least...

It's not good on your brakes, rotors, or cable... if you have a GT there should be NO problem doing a powerslide with the t/c off, and gears would also help.

The F and the Furious 3 was ok right up until they put a nissan motor in a old Mustang Fastback to make a drifter for the kid who played on SlingBlade. good for a couple laughs tho.

If you went to the movie with the expectation that the acting was going to be horrible it wasn't to bad. All the cars in this movie made REAL power as copared to the previous movies. The Mustang w/ Skyline engine never ran in real life though. Some famous drivers drove cars such as Stillen. I thought the funniest thing was that the Evo's in this movie were converted to rear wheel drive. I guess in the end there was a lot of lame issues with th movie, but the driving scenes made it viewable. Just hoping a bunch of people don't get hurt trying to drift.
