I believe that under the right conditions they will pass the sniffer, but fail a visual because there will only be 2 cats.

I've heard that LTs place the cats too far back; the exhaust has gotten cooler and the cats cannot be very effective in that spot.

My friend has SLP long-tubes on his 2000 WS6 and had cats put in right after the headers. He passed inspection...in Missouri, too.

the federal law says that it is illegal to remove a functional catalytic converter. Also, you are required to have the same # of cats that the car came with. on the other hand, who worries about the federal standards? lol

I have to. here in upstate NY where I live, people care little about cat.During inspection, they won't even look under the car. But I'm moving to Ohio sometime this year. Where I'm moving to, have E-check, with Visual check. Even with Cat, it won't pass visual. So i guess I have to go with BBK shorties when it come out....
