EASY CONTROL ARM ?

Ok... bringing this thread back from the dead. the upper control arms that were mentioned above (edelbrock) are in my hands now!!!

Happy Father's Day to me! :)

i want to make sure that when i call the ford dealerhip up tomorrow, i ask for the right bushings. Do I just say I need rubber bushings for the upper control arms on my 90 stang?

thanks,

jim

Are you changing the axle side bushings? Yes get the ford rubber ones. You should also get the bushing removal tool MM sells. They are a real PITA to get out without it. My father-inlaw made me a similar tool, but the first set of washers we used collapsed and just pulled the rubber out and not the metal cup. We ended up having to cut the cup out (it wouldn't collapse) and putting a cut/scratch in the differential ear that holds the bushing.

Another vote for MM LCA's. I went with frpp uppers and those. Huge difference over the poly bushing blue oval pieces I had. Does a much better job of planting the rearend, yet leaves me with a car that will corner, without feeling like a brick. Now my lousy tires are the week spot in my traction.

The 94/95 Mustang bushings are supposed to be twice as stiff as the earlier bushings and those are the ones I got. I also have the tool that DmnStr8 talked about above and it works well.

Since you're doing the whole rear suspension all at once you will not believe how tight it will feel. It's kinda like getting a blower put on, you won't be able to wipe the smile off of your face.

Thanks!

So Ill ask for the bushings for the 94/95 upper control arms! Any idea what ballpark figure they shoudl cost?

I am scared for my tranny with the new suspension going on! I already have a feeling it is soon to go kaboom. been a little tougher getting into gear lately! oh well. :p

Well, I called the ford dealership and asked for the aforementioned and he couldnt even find the upper control arms for the 94/95 mustang alltogether in the computer!!! Does anyone have the part numbers for the bushings I am looking for?

Thanks,

Jim

I got mine from Maximum Motorsports. I think they were $40 or so for the pair.

I have some concerns for the non-upgraded parts in my driveline too. That's why when MM suggested the rubber bushings it didn't take any convincing to get me to use them. It's a little give that might save something. With street tires you shouldn't have any problems though.
