so... quick and easy question...
Mach460... aftermarket Kenwood deck... sub and amp addition, can you use the rca's on the back of the deck or is there still the problem and you have to tap into the rca's?

I only read this forum so I thought if I posted in the sound and shine I'd forget anyways, and never know the answer.

BTW 1996 'stang stock everything except deck.

Thanks in advance... and mods, move it if you must... but I'll forget...

well either no one knows the answer or... my question made alot of people really angry and are purposely not answering the question out of spite...

Someone must know, just give me a simple yes or no answer, takes two seconds... can you use the rca outs?

Thanks..

Are you using that harness adapter for the Mach 460 that uses the RCA preouts on the aftermarket deck? If so, then you can get a pair of RCA y-splitters to hook up another rca cable to an aftermarket amp, if you don't have more than 1 set of preouts on the Kenwood. Most newer decks come with multiple preouts these days, some even including a mono subwoofer output.

^^Never thought of that...this is true. If you are still using the stock 460 amps for whatever reason and used the harness that plugs into the preouts on the headunit thus filling all the preouts then yes you will need to buy a splitter. I don't know why you'd want to use the stock amp's though, they sound like crap.

i took my car to an audio place when i wanted to add an amp and subs to the trunk with an alpine headunit, they had to add what looked like an equalizer behind my headunit for my mach 460 to work, i think they did it to get money. But if you have some rca's just get splitters or they even make a box now that you can wire into the signals going to the factory amp and hook rca's into it, walmart actually sells those.

that answered my question. Thanks everyone. I do have the stock 460 amps and speakers... I also have the scosche (sp) converter run through the rca's I believe (to run the factory amps and speakers with an aftermarket deck) ... So I guess I need the rca splitter.
On second glance... I used this...

So I think I can just run it to the rca's...

Once again... Thanks
