I have a 5-Speed 1993 GT Convertible. The 5.0L motor has been completely rebuilt, bored .30 over, and has the following parts currently:

Ported and Polished factory heads with 1.7 roller rockers
E303 Cam
Trick Flow Upper and Lower intake
Granatelli Mass Air
Holley Throttle Body
BBK Cold Air Induction
24lb/hr Ford Racing Injectors
BBK Shorty Headers
BBK H-Pipe
Flowmaster Exhaust
3.73 Gears
Frame Ties
Control Arms

My question is: I have the option of buying a set of Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads, stage 2 ported, with 7/16ths studs, 1.6 roller rockers, 2.05 1.60 feiro valves, comp springs, retainer, and locks, sub-plates on the ext. ports. These haven't been used since the machine work was done and I can get them for $1000.

Are these heads worth the money, will they be good for my application, and should I get a better cam to go with them if I do purchase them? Thank you!

I only have 3,000 miles on my completely rebuilt motor currently, but I'd like more power.

You wont have room for those 2.05 valves in the pistons' valve recesses unless you use a really mild cam. That in turn would defeat the purpose of running such a worked over cylinder head. You'd probably be better off getting some Performers or Performer RPMs new for ~$200 more. They would be better matched to the parts you have.

Do you have valve reliefs cut into your pistons? If not you'll need it with valves that big.

So, say I take care of the valve relief problem. Will the rest of my engine package be suitable or will there be other things that need attention before I start driving this again. Thanks!

Also, would a set of ported trick flow heads be better for my combination? I need help here because this is my first Mustang I'm building.

Before this I've always had trans ams with TPI, Lt1, or Ls1's and I'm currently working on a LS2 GTO. But, being I own a 1993 GT and a 1993 Cobra I'm trying to learn a lot more about the 5.0L's and what works best. Thanks!

Trick Flows will be fine, Edelbrock Performers(of some kind) will be fine, AFR 165s will be fine(maybe 185s, but only maybe), cleaned up Roush 180s will be fine. Edelbrocks use your stock valvetrain, AFRs might as well. Dont worry about porting jus yet. You dont have the supporting parts to warrant it yet. If you are sure you'll want more later, get some heads with a little room to grow. Be realistic, though. 2.02 or larger valves will probably need piston notching with anything but the Trick Flows. Hell, my combo nearly had contact with SpeedPro flat top pistons. A Crane 2031 isnt exactly a big cam.

TW's would work a lot better with your combo, but the Victor Jr's would be a helluva deal, hard to pass up, I'd buy em just so I could brag about having a race ready set of heads sitting on my bench! Then all you gotta do is change the pistons (for more compression) and put a much bigger cam and Victor 5.0 intake manifold. That'd be a fun little street terror!
