Hey guy I broke the equalizer on my ebrake. It is the metal piece that holds the two rear cables coking up from the rear drums I broke the cable in between the ebrake handle and the metal piece. I ordered a new one and tried installing it but seemed like the rear cables were too tight? The other issue was the ebrake handle spring unwound (sp) so how do I fix the spring on the ebrake handle and also get the cable hooked back up to the equalizer?

Thanks, Black 93 Fox

Yeah that helps out. Only thing I am not sure of is about the spring. The spring got unwound so how do I get it rewound so the tension is back? Also where did you get that info from is it a book if so whats the name? Thanks again for your help.

AFAIK the spring has to be rewound by hand so you're going to have to wind it back up and pin it with a nail or something as shown in the instructions. Just be careful of your fingers when the spring has tension on it. When the handle is in the down position it looks like there is about 1/4" of space between the coils when wound up.

The info comes from the cd version of the 93 service manual. The ISO file can be downloaded from www.fordcds.com.
