hey, as some of you may know i have recently started a project with my 1993 mustang Gt, I installed ford racing Gt40 x heads, E303 cam, new timing chain/lifters/ pushrods/1.7 Scorpion rockers, BBk SSI intake, 75mm TB, MSD pro billet distributor, headers, and an air pump delete. As it turns out i jsut found a way to get my car emissions exempt, and I thought about deleteing the EGR setup as well. However, the thought of the engine control module had crossed my mind, i was just wondering if this setup, with the EGR removed is going to cause any issues with the ECU, and if it is going to cause any problems, is there any way to fix it, or have it adjusted by a tuner or something like that? Any help is appreciated. I also need a new radiator, so i found one at pep boys, its an OEM grade, single core unit, its only around 120 bucks so im thinking of getting it, but i also have a set of for racing underdrive pulleys that reduces the water pump RPM by around 14% and i was wondering if this stock grade rad unit will be able to control the excess heat generated by the lack of coolant circulation and increased engine output, I do have a police interceptor fan, which might do a bit to help the cooling, but im still not sure a stock grade radiator will be adequate. anyway, sorry about the long post, but any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you have a fox, the stock rad is a 2 core. Modine and GDI make a 3 core upgrade for about the dollars you mentioned - it would be my choice if wanting a stockish lookin radiator.

You would probably want to turn off the EGR function in the computer if you physically delete the EGR. Otherwise, you might see part-throttle detonation (computer thinks EGR gasses are present and still pulls fuel and adds timing, which = detonation). A chip or some handhelds (TwEECer, etc) can do this.

Good luck.

As JT mentioned it would be best to leave the egr alone unless you can turn off the function in the computer.

Background reading if you are interested.

Schmucks/Kragen has some good stock type 2 and 3 core radiators.

2 core is probably ample. I have a 2 core and cooling is sufficient, even when I get a little excited with the throttle.
The 3 core would leave some room to grow though.

Right on.
As I recall, Autozone sells the GDI (Go Dan) radiators and Pep has Modine. If you ask for a radiator for your car, if it lists a HD 3 core version, that's probably what we're talkin about (it's a little thicker than the stocker).

You can do an alum radiator too.
Good luck.

thanks for the help, ill probably be heading over to autozone this weekend to pick up that 3- core unit. I'm probably going to be deleteing EGR, so i was looking into a new ECU, like the tweecer, when i came across this product http://www.streetspeedusa.com/5064.htmlseems like a cool idea, and its a bit cheeper than the tweecer unit, just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this or, has used it, thanks for all of the help
