Edelbrock intake

there are several people running vic jr's on 9.5" blocks in 69/70 cars (including me). a drop base air cleaner is required. others have put a smaller air cleaner on and cut the hood under a cobra jet scoop.

i managed to still have a shaker setup on mine.

I am and have had no issues. I was going for a stock look so I took the stock air filter housing and just took the top off. The rubber on the filter element seals on top with the hood itself. Don't mean to derail but I would love to figure out a way to get a shaker on mine!

i'm a little surprised you're getting a good seal with that method given the sharp body lines down the middle of a 69/70 hood.

if anyone is really interested in knowing how to get a shaker setup with a vic jr then let me know.

here was a very early mock up picture when i had the stock motor mounts, block, heads, vic jr, and a holley.

i'm not seeing the link. i don't think a choke and a drop base air cleaner (if you get the Spectre brand) would work well together. the top of the choke would get pretty close to the lid. there are a couple of options (if interested) that may allow you to run a choke and get some decent clearance but that will involve some experimentation.
