edelbrock performer 2 or trick flow track heat?
i need some input from you guys on witch one can handle the most power and whitch one gives me the most power i have a 1988 5.0 with a 92 gt motor and mass air swap thanks
What else is done to the motor...or is going to be done to the motor. Both of those choices are big intakes with fairly short runner lengths. These intakes are generally designed for a higher powerband...about 1500-6500. On a stock 92 motor these will probably wind up costing you a fair bit of low end torque with not all that much to gain up top because of the anemic stock heads.
However...if you have the motor to support either of these intakes (nice high comp HCI 302 or HCI stroker) Then the RPM II looks like a really nice intake. Its basically the exact same lower as a RPM except it has been milled down 3/8" and the only difference lies in the upper's design. It features a triangulated cross over tube for good air distribution to all the runners. And each runner has been enlarged some 30% over the RPM. It also has a 75mm TB opening, so consider that while you are choosing what intake to run.
Like said above, depends on what you have done to the engine. Both of these intakes will perform similar. Between the two intakes, I'd have to choose the Edelbrock Performer RPM II over the Trick Flow Track Heat just because of ease of installation. I currently have the TFS Street Heat and it is a pain in the a$$ to get to some of the upper plenum bolts. I had to grind on part of the intake plenum just to get clearance for my swivel socket. The RPM II doesn't uses a different design.
