Edelebrock performer heads

Hey I was just wondering what you guys thought about eddy rpm heads?

I may have a great deal on them 500 to 600? Is that a good price for used heads?I don't know if they are coming with roller rockers and springs.

Also what intake should I look for? I read that a Holley systemax is a lil too big for those heads, so I was thinking about a explorer intake Maybe ported. I have a 70 mm throttle body already, so I was hoping to utilize it.

Years ago I got a set of lightly-used Performers for $750, fully assembled + 1.6 roller rockers. They sit beneath a Typhoon intake, which is a copy of the Performer RPM. It works very well on my blower setup. YMMV on that combo.

Great price...have a shop go through and check all the valve to seat contacts and add better valve stem seals.

Then you will be golden.

I run the basic Edels on my set up. The performer intake will outflow the Explorer, but the explorer is a lot cheaper.

Make sure you perform the lifter preload set up when you install the heads on your car; if you're running the pedestal mount.

got mine for 450 with a set of ford racing 1.6 roller rockers but that was a total steal! thats not a bad price if you can get them for that. ive got them on my 91 and their awesome for the price,even at $600!

Im happy with my Performer RPM'S. I even opted for the smaller 1.90 and 1.60 valves just to avoid any possibilty of piston to valve clearance! Obviously you can make more power with a good set of AFR's but I have no plans to swap heads on mine!

FYI my car dynoed 490 rwhp with a Cobra Intake at 5500 rpm. I swapped the Cobra to a Systemax it made 509.8 rwhp at the same RPM and was still climbing hard but tuner had to shut it down due to a lean condition. He projected it to have about 530 give or take at 6200 RPM.
