I have a 357 I think I might have a wiped cam lobe. I want to go roller. I have stock rods and crank with good bolts. I now have gt-40 x heads and even though they are ported I think they are restrictive. I kinda thought AHR 185's were right. But don't have a clue on the cam. I drive the car 2 or 3 times a week and drive to the strip (45 miles). I have a tf 351 intake that I'm happy with. 30lb inj ,75mm tbody 77mm mass air . I was told to keep the revs down with stock rods. So im thinking a cam that pulls to around 6200??? the car is a 5 sp ,vert, 3.73 's in the rear.

To go roller your going to need to get the conversion lifters which are kind of pricy. AFR 185's would work, but 205's would really bring out the extra cubes is you like to race a lot. A custom grind cam would do you best. All this is going to cost you, but I think it would make a large difference.

for the roller conversion you have two choices. both cost about the same in the long run.

1. use the stock style lifters, and the associated hold down like on a 302. will prob have to drill/tap block for the screws of the hold down.(easy) Use a small base circle cam. this way the lifters will drop far enough into the lifter bore and not pop out when the cam rotates around. You will be limited on "off the shelf" cams this way, unless you go custom.

2. use crane or comps 351 roller conversion lifters. they are a little taller and have the link bar to hold them together. No hold down needed. This way you can use the basic cam with a whole of alot more selction for your choosing.

I would reccomend something around the Comp XE282HR for you. a custom would be a better choice.
