sorry guys, i just get tired of hypocritical people that think a car has to be rebuilt exactly like the factory built it, otherwise the car is ruined.

I am a member of 3 forums and Soaring is on 2 of them. He does offer some good information on many subject matters so I think he could add benefit to this forum. The only problem I have experienced with him is the one he has exhibited in this forum already. He has no respect for people who modify their cars. I have a highly modified car and get tired of this point of view. With that said, I sometimes wish soaring would keep his opinions to himself if they are not constructive. It does nobody any good. So Soaring listen to your mommy (and the rest of us) stop bashing all the modified cars out there or just leave us all alone. I don't make comments like "classic unmodified mustangs are just ancient and should be buried like other relics". I don't believe that so please don't jump on me. I work in an industry where I get paid to tell people my opinion. There is a politically correct way of saying things and life is much more pleasant when you do so.

On the subject of EFI. I found the easiest way was to get the whole shebang from a donor 5.0 and s spd car as someone already suggested. I did elect to go with an aftermarket harness since it made the wiring 10 times easier for me. I don't know if it would be in your budget but it was well worth it for me. Fordfuelinjection.com is a great source of information and he makes quality products.

I had the most difficulty trying to figure out how and where to run the fuel lines. I eventually used a combination of 5/16" brake line and high pressure fuel hose. The connections between the hose and line I used two high pressure fuel line clamps. James W has a great site and is very informative. He will be a wonderful source of information on this topic.

another idea for adding efi to an early mustang is to use the megasquirt system. this is a system that is inexpensive, and you can either build it yourself, or buy the controller already built. either way you tune the system yourself with a laptop. you can have an ignition controller or not, and you can set the system up for flex fueling up to E85 with the addition of a flex fuel sensor. the really nice thing about the megasquirt is that you just biuld the electronics. you just add the efi hardware, like intakes injectors, sensors, etc. as needed. check out these sites;

not your fault for asking a question that helps you build the car you want.

Do you have a special deal on a donor 5.0 , or do you want fuel injection in general? If your heart isn't set on a 5.0 style intake you can have fuel injection AND have that old carb look (with a few extra wires and fuel rails visible). I bought an Edelbrock setup, and Mass-air (spelling?) advertises one as well. The Mega-squirt already mentioned also looks a little more old school than the 5.0, so everybody is happy. Make it run the way you want, and make it look the way you like.
