EFI Supercharger Discharge Pipe

Still have some work to do but here is how it all is at this time. I have to move some wiring, deal with radiator but it is coming. I do plan on a custom tune. I have an appointment in a few weeks. I hope to make it on time.

I'll look forward to seeing the dyno results, and hearing more about your combination. Looks like a very nice selection of EFI peripherals too.
EFI and the Vortech is a killer combination. Very reliable, easy to drive, awesome power and wicked sound.

I am going to toot my own horn now. I finished the engine part. The only things I have left is mount the battery box in the trunk and mount the additional fuel pump. Maybe 2 hours and I am ready for the tuner. I have a steeda idler pulley coming so the pulleys will all look nice. This has been far from a direct bolt in but well worth it.

Don't forget to reroute your breather tube - you've still got it connected from the throttle body to the valve cover. Check the vortech installation instructions for advice, but generally you reroute from the valve cover to the intake side of the S/C. If you leave it like it's shown in the photo, you'll pressurize your crankcase every time you go into boost - results will be... messy.

Thanks again Andy. I did not have space for the air filter cover so I left if off. Since I am not using it I skipped reading the directions about how to hook it up. There is a hose barb on the filter cover to connect to the tube on the filler tube. Thanks again for the help and now I need to figure out how I am going to fix the problem. I guess I will fabricate some kind of air filter shield out of sheetmetal or perhaps I could trim the Vortech supplied piece to fit my clearance problems and use it. :scratch:

That really came out looking clean. How much room between the blower belt and radiator? Just watch when it warms up.
Yes Andy is right, On the stock kit the hose runs through a carb type fuel filter and then to the cold air box. Definitely don't go to boost with the stock hook up. I may have a picture of the Vortech stock setup, if you can't find it.
It's so fun, about 3K rpms it goes into boost. If you hit any kind of rise in the road under boost it will light up the tires even in 3rd. Haven't been brave enough to do that in 4th.
Can't wait to get your impressions. If you don't have a huge grin on your face, better check for a pulse.

God I am such a slow typer! You could make a metal tab to come off the LMAF adapter and install a small K & N filter on the other end of the barb. You just want to make sure no dirt gets sucked into the engine.
 
Well I was able to use the Vortech shield by trimming here and there. It actually gives it a more professional look. It turned out a little better than I thought it would. I think I will remove some of the metal from in front of the filter and do some kind of ram air inlet for the car.

The only problem is I don't have any of the vacuum tubing to connect the valve cover to the nipple with or the plug for the throttle body. I don't recall seeing any kind of filter on the directions for the kit that goes on the breather line. Perhaps I need to call Vortech and see beforeI take a trip to the speed shop for vacuum line.

The radiator is a little closer than I wanted it to be. I had it done at a local radiator shop and they did not make the 90* inlet short enough the first time and it would have rubbed the belt. I have about 1/2" now. I hope that will be enough. If not out the radiator comes and back to the radiator shop.

Thanks for all the help you guys. I hope to have a post giving you a full review later this spring. The bummer thing is the car does not have the windshield in it and it won't until the body work is done. That mean no test drive............... maybe I could borrow the neighbors motorcycle helmet. :rolleyes:

If you pull the steel nipple out of the top of your throttle body where the breather hose currently connect (just twist and pull a little - don't go nuts on it), the remaining hole will accept a 1/8" NPT tap. It's probably not the perfect size, but it threads pretty easily. Tap the hole, and insert a 1/8" NPT plug in its place (available at Home Depot or the plumbing place of your choice). Looks cleaner than capping it with a piece of vacuum hose - your engine compartment looks great - don't want to foul it up with ugly hardware...
 
I pulled a 1/8 plug out of the manifold for the boost gauge and kept it for that what if need. I guess the what if need is here. Thanks again for the tip. I will keep you posted on my progress later this spring when I drive the car. I hope to be grinning ear to ear with dirty drawers!!!!! :rlaugh:
