Is this a true statement?:
EGR = Exhaust gas recirculation. This device prevents the engine from re-burning exhaust gases. Hence, the engine is always burning fresh fuel and air, thus making more power. It really doesn't have any adverse effects on the motor, it actually helps by not allowing burnt exhaust gasses back into the motor.

actually, the EGR allows exhaust gasses into the chambers at part throttle to help with emissions. no gasses at idle or WOT. and though i dont really understand why (Michael Yount and others are the experts on all of this, including the thermodynamics), the hot gasses actually help cool the chambers i think. also, i think if the computer is not modded after removing the EGR, detonation can occur, as the puter is still thinking the EGR is still functional.
sorry i dont understand it more.
