OK....my DD is a 1993 Mercury Marquis....gets me to work and back.
Car runs great it is auto trans.....at highway speeds, once in a while it seems to slip in and out of gear....like the engine will rev and clearly it is slipping, but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it goes back to normal. It can go weeks without doing it, then it will suddenly do it several times over 10 mins, then not do it again. Very frustrating and if I have to replace the trans, I am taking it to the junk yard.
A friend mentioned EGR valve, which is kinda funny cause I have had an EGR code for a couple of years, but I though that was only emission crap. He said he replaced it in his older car and the transmission slip went away, said it has to do with vacuum.
Anyway......any thoughts on what I described? Thanks
