ok i just finished installing my proform electric fan.. i have all of the connections right, and the fan does work, it just doesnt turn on untill the car is already at one notch below the red.. i have the temperature sensor touching the hottest part of the radiator too.. any ideas on what it is, or what i should do.. i absolutly need to fix this because i have a 3 hour drive on saturday morning and i dont want any problems on this trip

is the controller adjustable? how is the probe mounted? through the fins or in the inlet hose?

the temps with the adjustable units are not very precise. you might have to dial the setting down to where it comes on at the temp you want, rather than assuming that a setting of, say, 180* means it will come on at 180. cool?

oh yeah, you really need a good temp gauge to dial it in. the stocker is horrible. but you probably know that.

good luck - im hoping someone posts on your other thread. i just posted on it.

yeah, I've got a black magic with the same prob. It's got an adjustable T-stat but I've got to set it almost to it's lowest setting for it to come on at all.

the controller is set as low as it will go.. which is supose to be 180*.. i have the probe touching the side peice on the radiator, i also had it touching the fins and that didnt work as well as the way it is now.. im starting to get really frustrated with this whole overheating thing, and it needs to be fixed by tomorrow at the latest
