Electric fan screw AC up?

you should wire the new electric fan so that when the a/c is turned on, the fan comes on (as most OEM applications do). the fluid your dad refers to is the silicone in the fan clutch. the mech fan obviously turns no matter what - the amount of lock up depends upon temps (a/c turned on at low coolant temps dont make the fan spin more). the fan simply locks more as temps increase (which happens when a/c is on).

for the record, neither of you is wrong. i dont want to see you and dad duke it out.

Hissin50 is right, i have an electric fan and it is wired up so when i turn the A/C on the electric fan also turns on.
