Have just installed an aluminum radiator in my '67 Mustang fastback, 351W, Edelbrock Performer intake. I am planning to put in a 16" electric fan with a thermostat control. My questions:
(1) It seems that the thermostat sensor has only one contact. That suggests that the circuit is: battery > fan motor > sensor > ground in manifold (when temperature is reached). Sound right?
(2) Is the intake manifold grounded by the motor ground cable? Does the manifold need its own ground?
(3) Does Teflon tape or pipe compound break the electrical contact between the sensor threads and the manifold? What would provide a seal (prevent leaks) and still conduct electricity?
(4) Would a "Y" in the wire (past the motor) switched to ground control the fan manually?
Thanks for your help.
