I just got my 3.8 tarus fan and want to install it this weekend but, I have two questions. Whats the best way to mount it/ how do I keep from flying around and coming loose, second ob the tarus fan do you have to move the overflow tank?

You need to get oil cooler zip ties, you can find them at most autoparts stores, cheap. They go straight through the radiator and have like silver dollar size heads on both sides. The coolant bottle i reversed and put on the other side with lond bolts into the shroud.

With that said, i took my taurus fan out of the car and went back to stock, first off i couldn't feel and ounce of difference, second of all i just didn't trust it. IMO it's not a worthy mod. There's a guy on one of my mustang boards who's pretty reliable and suggests that him qm time stay the same along with his dyno numbers, and after doing the swap, i find it believable.

The electrical fan consumes 1/2 HP of electrical power. That is less than the 3-7 HP of a mechanical fan. It is possible that the power gain could get lost in the dyno measurements. The difference between 1/2 HP & 3 HP on a 300 HP engine is less than 1%, which could easily get lost in the variation in dyno accuracy.

The big advantage is improved cooling in stop & go traffic. It also provides more consistent engine temperature which improves fuel mileage & overall performance.

Regardless, i don't think the taurus fan is powerful enough. If i was to consider doing it again, it would be with a lincoln fan.

If you haven't already mounted the fan look on my Stangnet site photo page and see how I mounted mine. I still have the cooler ties in there but I didn't trust them. the top two brackets bend over the lip of the radiator. The bottom is a piece of aluminum I cut out. Mine works great btw.

Very nice work! Im impressed with how clean everything is! So three questions......
How did you make the brackets?
Where's the Dc controller mounted?
How did you get everything so clean?

I ordered everything from www.dccotrol.com. The controller was already mounted on the inside of the fan housing. All I had to do was hang it and run wire to it. The controller is pretty compact so I don't think it would look bad on the outside either.The top brackets are strips of stainless steel I cut and bent. Then I riveted them to the top part of the housing. Try and mock everything up and see how you want it to fit. If you need exact measurments for anything I can get them tomorrow.

Incredible, very clean installation sn9550! So one could buy this stanless steel at a home depot?

Mr. Yount, would your 35A model be enough for the Mark 8 fan Im planning on installing?

Contact Brian Baskin at Delta Current - he'll coach you on the proper controller. The MarkVIII has the potential to pull even more amps than the 3.8 fan - I suspect he'll recommend the 60A controller for the MkVIII.

Impressive, sn9550! I was not aware that Delta Current integrated their controller with the fan in the complete kit. Kinda feel like Im missing out now.. Im gonna remember that when I go over the cooling system on the Bronc

I think you should be able to get the stainless steel at Home Depot or Lowes. I don't remember the thickness just don't get it to flimsy. I used a cutoff wheel to cut it out and a vice/dead blow hammer to bend it.
One of the reasons I ordered the whole setup from www.dccontrol.com was to save time and hassle with trying to set everything up. He does a good job!
