Electric Water Pump Install

I've searched other threads but cannot find the exact answer to my question. I've also checked CSR's and Summit Racing's site to no avail. I am replacing the water pump on my '67 289 with a CSR electric water pump (model 905B). The CSR pump only has (2) 3/4" ports on the bottom hemisphere of the pump, with no provisions for the bypass or heater hoses. Do I have the wrong pump, or is there a "right" way to make what I have work? I'd like to retain heater functionality but, the heater in this cars doesn't work well to begin with and I don't drive the car in any conditions to make it an absolute necessity.

You can not retain the heater function with that pump, the two lower ports are so you can run the hose out either side. Meziere makes a pump that retains heater funtion WP311S, a little more money then the CSR but much nicer IMO.

If you need one of those I have a customer that went a different route and wants to sell his, its brand new never used in the original box.

I never need a heater here so i plugged the port on the intake and capped off the bypass on the water neck.

Thats correct, Ive been creative over the years removing the pipe nipple from the water pumps and tapping and plugging them for a cleaner look, Ive also brazed caps on them..otherwise they sell these rubber caps in the HELP section at most parts stores that work just fine. Just keep an eye on it overtime for cracks.

The Meziere pump is black, I believe you would have to change the timing cover to use it if your using an early style front cover.
