Dave, what does your car weigh? I have the same HP and only run 109 mph, my car is a heavy ass convert at #3550. Or is that your time with the 150 shot?
I agree with the Meziere and CSR, we use them on quite a few builds. The Meziere is particularly nice if you still need a pulley to wrap the belt around as they offer them both ways.
What can you actually expect to gain from an electric WP? I have read a bit about them, and they seem expensive for the small amount they free up... Has anyone ever gauged what they got from them? If they are that beneficial I might get one while my motor is apart...
I have a Meziere pump in the vette, works fine and the electrical motors have the highest longevity rating of all of them. (at least for LSX motors) The power gains are minimal 5 to 10rwhp tops, the benefit is that they're full blast even when idling in stop and go traffic. Also you can leave them on in the stage lanes cooling the engine while its off.
its (as Darkness said) not about freeing up power as much as being able to run it without the engine running. Our race cars typically have the fan and water pump (and Heat exchanger pump on boosted apps) all on switches to let them run in the staging lanes. Its amazing how fast it will cool down a car.
We talked with the sales rep from CSR at the nationals in seattle this year and they have seen there pumps run with 75,000+ miles problem free! Sales pitch? you got me thats just what he said! peace
Go Moroso. I have ran them all and thats the best in my opinion. The CSR (was CSI right?) is a crappy design in my opinion. Just over kill in design, and gets in the way of everything.
The moroso has the best slim line fit, will clear any Pro charger cog set-up and twin turbo pluming set-up. I have beat on mine and torn it apart and has never missed a lick.
I remember seeing Dick Landy (a guy who's built a *few* motors) quoted in the engine masters challenge as saying an electric was worth "20+" on a 800hp big block mopar... for whatever thats worth. (they ran the mez)
